Huckleberry Lookout

Huckleberry Lookout – 11.6mi / 18.6km

Huckleberry Lookout

Huckleberry Lookout, one of the few remaining staffed lookouts, has fantastic views along the west side of Glacier. To get there, you will spend the first level mile in low, dense forest, followed by a climb with sporadic views into the McGee Creek drainage.

Approximately 4 miles into the trip, you will cross over a saddle where the lookout becomes visible. From here the trail mellows out and the views are panoramic. At the lookout, you will also have wonderful views of the North Fork Flathead River, the Livingston Range in Glacier, and way north into Canada.

Trailhead: The trail is clearly marked just off of Camas Road on the west side of the road.

Elevation Gain/Loss: 2,700ft / 810m
