Red Eagle Lake

Red Eagle Lake – 16.2mi / 26.1km

Red Eagle Lake

This hike takes you through meadows and burned forests to a large, lovely lake. The trail alternates between St. Mary’s meadows and burned areas that fill up with flowers in the spring and early summer. At a little over four miles, you meet up with Red Eagle Creek and follow that all the way up to the lake.

The birding is great throughout this entire hike.

Trailhead: Follow signs to the old 1913 Ranger Station, located just east of the East Entrance in St. Mary.

Elevation Gain/Loss: 1,100ft / 330m
