Menors Ferry Historic District

Menors Ferry Historic District – 0.3mi / 0.5km

Menors Ferry was established as a way for early settlers to safely cross the Snake River. The family-friendly loop of the area features 19th-century buildings, interpretive displays, a general store, and a replica of the ferry.

The paved trail begins amongst the sagebrush meadows with stunning views of the Tetons rising to the west. Take the loop counterclockwise into the shade of the cottonwoods and visit an old cabin with interpretive exhibits, chairs, and other period decorations.

The Snake River keeps you company as you pass an old barn housing a variety of wagons. Beyond the barn, you come to a replica of the famous ferry with interpretive displays describing why the area was chosen and how the ferry worked.

Before heading back to the car, the general store has more displays regaling the history, and an opportunity to purchase a variety of items.

Trailhead: The signed road to Menors Ferry Historic District is just north of Moose Entrance Station on east side of Teton Park Road.
