Browns Point

Browns Point – 3.2mi / 5.2km

This beautiful beach at Kalaloch is popular for its easy access and wide, sandy beaches. While many of Olympic’s beaches involve a steep descent, here a short ramp takes you from the picnic area to the sand.

The wide, sandy beach stretches out in both directions. Take a right to head north along the coast, passing the famous Tree Root Cave that spans a gap with its roots hanging below. Destruction Island sits out off the coast with its signature lighthouse. Continue north to the rocky outcropping that is Browns Point where you can explore the tide pools in the rocks.

Keep an eye out for sea birds, whales and sea otters as you turn around and head back.

Trailhead: Turn into the Kalaloch Campground off Hwy 101 (34 miles south of Forks). Beach access is on the west end of the parking lot behind the campground registration kiosk.
