Heart O’ the Forest Trail

Heart O’ the Forest Trail – 4.4mi / 7.1km

This quiet, forested hike is a nice stroll, especially for those staying in the Heart O’ the Hills Campground. The trail travels through a lush forest full of large trees and a wide array of flora.

It gently gains some elevation, crossing over a few feeder streams before gradually descending towards Lake Creek. You first hear the creek, then get glimpses of it as you traverse along the steep canyon. A large, fallen tree across the trail signals the park boundary and the turnaround.

Trailhead: Drive through the Heart O’ the Hills Campground to Loop E. The trailhead is on the right just as you turn into the loop.

Elevation Gain: 800ft / 240m – Elevation Loss: 800ft / 240m
