Shoshone Lake via DeLacy Creek

Shoshone Lake via DeLacy Creek – 6mi / 9.6km

The shortest hike to the beautiful Shoshone Lake is via the level DeLacy Creek Trail. The trail immediately enters the woods and drops down to the creek. From here, the creek gurgles through a mature stand of lodgepole forest.

The trail eventually breaks into picturesque meadows lined with trees. The trail then alternates between forest and meadows. As you approach the lake, you look out to a wide slough covered in lily pads where waterfowl hide. A row of trees line the edge of the lake. Once through the trees, Shoshone Lake opens up before you with a lovely, pebbled shoreline.

Trailhead: The signed trailhead for DeLacy Creek is located halfway between Old Faithful and West Thumb on Grand Loop Road.

Elevation Gain: 150ft / 45m – Elevation Loss: 150ft / 45m
