Cascade Creek

Cascade Creek – 4.5mi / 7.2km

This pleasant hike along the old Big Oak Flat Road leads to a nice little cascade. From the campground, this trail gradually works its way down through a fantastic old forest. Large trees line much of the hike with occasional huge boulders and a couple of smaller streams.

Just past the junction with the trail that heads out to Foresta, you’ll find the bridge over Cascade Creek with some small cascades. Turn around here, or continue on for a much more strenuous day to El Capitan (see El Capitan).

Trailhead: Take the Tioga Road to the road for Tamarack Campground. Park in the campground and walk down the road to the gated old Big Oak Flat Road.

Elevation Gain: 850ft / 255m – Elevation Loss: 850ft / 255m
