Lake McDonald

Mt Brown Lookout

Mt. Brown is located at the head of Lake McDonald and the lookout gives you fantastic views of the lake and the surrounding valley which is towered by inspiring mountain walls. The hike starts across the road from the historic Lake McDonald Lodge and breaks off from the trail that leads to the Sperry Chalet. At this point, the trail makes an earnest effort to get to the top with some haste. The almost 30 switchbacks help ease the amount of elevation gain, but it still is a bruiser. For those that hike to the top, the views do not disappoint. Look for huckleberries in mid to late summer and migrating eagles soaring in the updrafts in the fall.

Good sentence! I’m also impressed with how your scanning skills improved over the course of the summer.

When will you be in Missoula?
