Pa’Rus Trail

The Pa’Rus Trail in Zion National Park is a wonderful paved path that follows along the Virgin River. It is the only trail in Zion that is both bicycle and pet-friendly (on a leash).

I’ve hiked along this trail, once in May of 2014 and again in April 0f 2015 in the evening which is a wonderful time of day to go. The trail is cooler and quieter as the rays of the setting sun lights up the mountains.

The trail follows along the Virgin River and crosses it three times. The trail is a little over 1.5 miles and starts at the Zion Canyon Visitor Center and ends at Canyon Junction. You can take the shuttle back to the visitor center or further up the canyon, or turn around and head back on the trail.

It’s a nice level hike for everyone in the family and offers numerous signed accesses to the Virgin River and bounces in and out of the trees for some respite from the sun if you decide to walk during the head of the day.
