We were on a roll until about the middle of August getting out quite a bit and having a few blogs to show for it. The skies got a bit too smokey some days, a bit too rainy other days, and a bit of sickness showed up in the Hike 734 household. Any outings we had along the way were not really blog-worthy. We were out on local trails, out on a ridge doing raptor migration counts, and banding Harlequin Ducks (so cool!!)
But last Wednesday, we got out to hike to Triple Divide Pass and boy was this an incredible day! The weather was great and we saw a bunch of animals. One of the reasons we love getting out is we never know what we're going to see. Sometimes the delight is in the simple, subtle things like a special flower or the way the light filters through the trees. Other times it's in-your-face amazing. Wednesday was just that and we are excited to share it with you.
Anyway, hope you're able to get out in the fall weather wherever you are. Got to squeeze in the fall days up here.... our favorite time to be out!
hoping for a loooooong fall,
Jake and Kristen
