With some rain in the forecast, Kristen and I knew that we needed to seize the sunshine before the wet weather came. We loaded our bikes on a sunny Wednesday morning and headed up to Glacier.
The spring ritual of riding up Going-to-the-Sun Road before cars start driving up to Logan Pass is one we look forward too. It's a more intimate way of experiencing the park. Want to smell the flowers? Stop and do so! You don't have to wait for a pullout, or be worried that you'll get honked at. You can hear the birds singing, the water rushing, and see all of the little details that you miss when you're driving by.
This year, was extra special for us as we are launching an update that's been in the works for a couple of years. After I sent out a Hike 734 email in 2022, I received a reply from a Hike 734 follower named Yolanda suggesting that I add some biking specific information. She loved using the driving guide when she was on a bike. Genius!
The new map features distances between points, a few extra stops, updated artwork, some refreshed descriptions, and some other tweaks to make it easier to use.
Check out the blog announcement to see some spring Glacier biking footage and pick up the updated map for your trip up the road whether by car, by bus, or by bike!
the trail (and road) awaits...
