Hall of Mosses Trail
Hall of Mosses Trail – 1.1mi / 1.8km
The wide, easy trail with great interpretive signs guides you through this lush, temperate rain forest. The trail begins near the ranger station and crosses over a stream that houses salmon fry and attracts birds.
You’ll climb up onto a bench and continue through massive trees, nurse logs, and the dense vegetation. Signs help you understand the surrounding ecosystem. A spur trail leads to a maple grove draped in sheets of moss. The trail continues through more, beautiful forest before closing the loop near the ranger station.
(The first 0.1mi/0.2km of the trail, called the Mini Trail, is accessible to wheelchairs.)
Trailhead: Turn onto the Upper Hoh Road from Hwy 101 (13 miles south of Forks). Follow the road to the Visitor Center at the end of the road. The trail begins behind the ranger station.
