Beach 4

Beach 4 – 0.4mi / 0.7km

Great tide pools and interesting rock formations on this beach are a short walk from the trailhead. The small parking lot leads to an accessible overlook of the Pacific Ocean with the lighthouse on Destruction Island and the lovely Beach 4 below.

After visiting the overlook, continue down the steep stairs through a lush forest before popping out on the beach. A wonderful bridge made of looping driftwood takes you over rocks full of holes routed out by clams. On the other side of the bridge lies the sandy beach stretching in both directions. Rocks to the north jut out into the ocean and contain some tide pools to explore.

For those looking for some extra, walk 0.7mi/1.1km south to Beach 3 at Browns Point, or head 4.5mi/7.2km north, all the way up to Ruby Beach.

Trailhead: Turn into the signed parking area for Beach 4 off Hwy 101, 3.5 miles north of the Kaloloch Ranger Station (31 miles south of Forks).
