Third Beach

Third Beach – 3.6mi / 5.8km

A tall waterfall crashes down into the ocean at this beautiful beach. The trail keeps a mellow grade for 1.1mi/1.8km through the lush rain forest before switchbacking down to the beach along Newbert Creek.

On the way down, you get a couple vantages of the beach and sea stacks to the south. The wide beach arcs along Strawberry Bay in either direction. To the south, you’ll see the waterfall plummeting down the steep cliff face.

For a little bonus, you can access the top of the waterfall and a quiet beach by using the ropes to climb the steep overland trail over Taylor Point.

Trailhead: Turn west onto Hwy 110/La Push Road from Hwy 101, 1.5 miles north of Forks. Follow the road 11.5 miles to the signed Third Beach parking area. The trail begins west of the parking area.

Elevation Gain: 300ft / 90m – Elevation Loss: 300ft / 90m
