Lower Yosemite Fall

Lower Yosemite Fall – 1.0mi / 1.6km

This paved loop gives you a front-row seat at the base of the powerful 320ft/98m Lower Yosemite Fall. From the shuttle stop, begin the loop clockwise. The view, looking up at the entire waterfall, is wonderfully framed by the trees as you walk down the paved path with multiple interpretive signs. Large ponderosa pines give way to oak and cedar as you get closer to the falls. A slight incline is encountered right before the viewing area near the bridge.

In the spring and early summer, waves of cold mist take your breath away as the water pounds down on the granite boulders. Follow the trail across the bridge as it winds through large boulders and a pleasant forest. The trail parallels the braiding stream before turning back to the bus stop.

Trailhead: As there is no parking at the trailhead, take the free bus shuttle to the Lower Yosemite Falls stop #6, or the short walk from Yosemite Village.

Elevation Gain: 50ft / 15m – Elevation Loss: 50ft / 15m
