Upper Beaver Meadows Loop
Upper Beaver Meadows Loop – 6mi / 9.6km
This loop affords a variety of bird-filled forests and flowering meadows in the Upper Beaver Meadows area.
After crossing over the stream at the trailhead head left to cruise across the wide open meadows. You’ll enter into the forest where you’ll stay right through a couple of junctions to begin climbing up along the ridge. At the top of the draw, you’ll exit the forest along the ridgeline. A small spur trail leads to views of Moraine Park as the Thompson River snakes below. Continue straight at the junction taking you to another vantage looking up into the mountains.
Turn around back to the junction, but take a left to traverse through the ever-changing forest above the meadows. Halfway through the traverse, a magnificent perch is a perfect spot to enjoy sweeping views. Continue down through a forest of spindly lodgepole pines, crossing streams and exploring narrow meadows. Follow the sign back up the hill towards Deer Ridge. Once atop the ridge, you’ll break out into sagebrush meadows. Follow the trail to the right at the junction to circle back to the trailhead
Trailhead: Just west of the Beaver Meadows Entrance, turn into the signed Upper Beaver Meadows area and follow the rough road all the way to the trailhead.
