Cascade Falls
Cascade Falls – 6.9mi / 11.1km
Cascade Falls both cascades and falls as it tumbles around and over rocks, repeatedly dividing and combining with itself in a mesmerizing display.
First an old, gravel road, then a proper hiking trail, the trail to the falls passes through meadow after meadow. The river, North Inlet, first becomes visible as you enter into Summerland Park. Keep an eye out for deer and moose as you travel along this mostly level trail.
The valley eventually narrows, the river begins to cascade and you climb up to Cascade Falls alongside a cliff that rises above you. Follow the trail to the right as it splits to bring you alongside the falls. Be careful as you explore the falls which splash through the large boulders.
Trailhead: From Hwy 36, turn onto West Portal Road to Grand Lake. Stay on West Portal Road for 1.1mi/1.8km and follow the signs for Tonahutu & North Inlet Trailheads on County Road 663 to the North Inlet Trailhead.
