Poudre River Trail – North
Poudre River Trail – North – 10.8mi / 17.5km
This remote hike offers much solitude as you follow several creeks and a river through a mosaic of forest and meadows.
You’ll follow the playful Corral Creek down through a lovely drainage. The creek joins up with La Poudre Pass Creek which you follow down into the wide valley bottom. Cross this creek and enter into the national park where you begin working up the Cache la Poudre River. Stay right at the trail junction and continue along this beautiful river through forest and meadows.
While you can turn around at any point, the junction with the Chapin Creek Trail is a perfect perch, set in a wide meadow with splendid views of the west side of the Mummy Range.
Trailhead: Take Colorado Hwy 14 and travel east from Walden or west from Ft. Collins to Long Draw Road (seasonally closed). Follow the gravel road for 8.5mi/13.6km to the Corral Creek Trailhead.
