Alluvial Fan

Alluvial Fan – 0.3mi / 0.5km

An interesting alluvial fan of rocks and debris was formed as a result of a catastrophic failure of the Lawn Lake Dam in 1982. This short trail explores this massive collection of rocks where the Roaring River enters Horseshoe Park. Just upriver from the bridge, you can see Horseshoe Falls cascade into the rubble.

Trailhead: Just east of the Fall River entrance off Hwy 34, turn up the Old Fall River Road in Horseshoe Park. The signed trailhead is on your right, past the Lawn Lake Trailhead.
