Lake Irene

Lake Irene – 0.9mi / 1.4km

Have lunch at the picnic area, then enjoy a lovely stroll down to a pretty lake and an overlook. The trail begins at the picnic area near a historic cabin.

From there, you’ll work your way down a gentle grade past a flowering, marshy meadow. Upon reaching the lake, the trail follows the shoreline with a small meadow on one side of this otherwise forested lake. Continue past the lake to an overlook for views looking down towards the Kawuneeche Valley before heading back.

Trailhead: Off Trail Ridge Road, turn into the Lake Irene Picnic Area just southeast of Milner Pass.
