This easy, accessible trail wraps around the lovely Lily Lake affording wonderful views and excellent birding as you travel through a variety of habitats.

The trail begins along the eastern shoreline. To the west Longs Peak rises above Estes Cone. Taking the loop counter-clockwise, you’ll traverse below the rust-colored cliffs of Lily Mountain (see Lily Ridge Loop to explore this area). On the far side of the lake, the trail wanders through open meadows with tall trees, and views look back at Twin Sisters Peaks.

As you wrap back to the trailhead, you’ll pass a marshy section which is a great place to look for moose.
