Lily Ridge Loop

Lily Ridge Loop – 1.4mi / 2.2km

Climb above Lily Lake, then along its shoreline for a hike full of a variety of habitat, animals, and views.

The trail begins along the eastern shoreline. To the west Longs Peak rises above Estes Cone. Follow the edge of the lake to the bridge where you’ll take a right onto the trail that switchbacks up Lily Mountain. Views of Longs Peak and its neighbors get better as you climb. At the top of the climb, the trail traverses to the west looking down on the lake, before descending to parked out meadows.

Stay left at the first junction, then join up with the Lily Lake Loop Trail where you’ll take a right along the shore with views looking east to Twin Sisters Peaks. Take a right on the dirt trail before you get to the boardwalk over the marshy area. You’ll join up with an old road that passes picnic areas.

Stay left at the remaining junctions as you wander through aspens and pines on your way back to the trailhead.

As you wrap back to the trailhead, you’ll pass a marshy section which is a great place to look for moose.

Trailhead: Off Colorado Hwy 7, turn into the Lily Lake parking lot south of Estes Park.
