Mill Creek

Mill Creek – 3.7mi / 5.9km

The open meadows of Hollowell Park lead to cool, forested valleys.

The level trail passes through a splendid sagebrush meadow with a riparian area to your left and Steep Mountain in front of you. The trail wraps around the south side of the mountain as it begins to climb along the chattering Mill Creek. The narrow shaded valley is a welcome respite on a hot summer day.

Take a left to cross the creek where the trail climbs away from the creek through a lodgepole forest. Take a right at the next junction as you drop into the small meadows of Mill Creek Basin. After crossing the creek, youโ€™ll take another right to begin heading back down the valley. Take in the views before steeply descending through a remarkable stand of towering aspens, then back to the trailhead.

Trailhead: Follow Bear Lake Road and turn into Hollowell Park, or park at the Park & Ride and take the parkโ€™s free shuttle to the trailhead.
