Lineham Trail – Waterton Lakes National Park

Just off the Akamina Parkway in Waterton Lakes National Park lies a trail with some wonderful views and a fantastic waterfall at the end. The trail gains a little over 1,200 ft of elevation over the course of just under 3 miles. It starts out in the trees, but quickly ascends above the treeline giving you views south towards Cameron Lake. As you move up the valley, you move in and out of trees and have a couple of opportunities to get close to Lineham Creek and some little falls. Eventually, the terrain levels out and you emerge from the trees to an immense cirque with great views and the marquee waterfall in the distance. Keep your eyes on the cliffs for views of mountain goats.

The waterfall is over 300 ft in height and beautiful even later in the year. It is fed by Lineham Lakes in the basin above the cirque and it roars in the springtime.
