Tundra Communities Trail

Tundra Communities Trail – 1.2mi / 1.9km

The short walk through the tundra is dotted with interpretive signs explaining the complex, intricate tundra and expansive surroundings. You’ll have fantastic views from the road to the end.

The trail travels through the low growing tundra harboring marmots, pikas, and a wide array of plant life. A side trail leads to tall, mushroom-shaped rock formations. The trail ends at another rock formation with a memorial plaque.

On top of the formation, a metal geological marker provides mileage and elevation information for surrounding peaks and features.

Trailhead: Park just west of Rock Cut along Trail Ridge Road.
