Two Medicine Lake & Upper Two Medicine Lake
—
by
Two Medicine Lake is a fantastically beautiful lake located on the east side of Glacier National Park. This is a walk along the trail that goes around Two Medicine Lake taking little spurs that include Upper Two Medicine, Twin Falls, Paradise Point and Aster Park. You get quite a bit of variety on this hike from forested walks to avalanche chutes to large and small lakes, waterfalls, a little bit of alpine and old burned forest. There’s always wildflowers and birds and a chance to see moose, bear and goats as well!

Jake,
It was so fun to see this!! Brought me back to a wonderful day with a new friend.
Thanks for letting me be a part of it. Incredible job with this whole project. Way to go!

Cynthia, it was my pleasure!! I’m excited for more Mader madness next summer… better come on up!
Hi and thanks for your helpful site! Do you know if this hike or others in the Two Medicine area will be open this week? The GNP trail status page is still down, so wondering if any experts are aware…thank you in advance!
Last I looked at the trail cam (which has been on and off) it looked like there was still plenty of snow around there… so is it open? Technically, sure. Is it a dry trail? Highly doubtful. I would bring either/or snowshoes/yaktrax and explore. Just be mindful of the weather and crossing any avalanche terrain. I think you’ll be able to explore around Two Medicine Lake a bit, possibly over to Paradise Point, but I think Upper Two Medicine will be super challenging.
