Grinnell Lake Spring 2015
—
by
The Many Glacier Road opened up recently and Kristen and I decided to hike to Grinnell Lake and it was a great day. Being spring in Montana, we got some sunshine and some snow and a lot of Glacier National Park all by ourselves.
The trail was mostly clear of snow, but did have some downed trees to navigate and the suspension bridge over Cataract Creek wasn’t in. (We just followed the creek to the shores of the lake instead of crossing over.) We saw a lot of great birds in addition to the mountain goats, bighorn sheep, and the two moose towards the end of the trip. We walked past the beautiful Swiftcurrent Lake and Lake Josephine to finally get to Grinnell Lake which was a perfect spot to have lunch.
