Feels good to be back home

Logan Pass

After a couple months of hiking in Yellowstone National Park, I’m finally back home. While Yellowstone is amazing, I still need my Glacier National Park fix. It’s also fall around here and the colors are changing quite dramatically and both Kristen and I wanted to see Glacier in her new clothes.

Another development has been the strong desire to get a class B RV van after spending many, many nights sleeping in campgrounds in Yellowstone. Fall is not only for beautiful colors, but happens to be a great time to buy an RV. We ended up flying down to Florida to purchase a sweet, used RV and drove it back up here to Montana.

For those two reasons, we hopped into our new toy and drove up to the Park. We stayed in the Apgar campground and couldn’t be happier with our purchase. When we awoke the next morning, we took it for a spin up to Logan Pass and then hiked to Hidden Lake as the night’s dusting of snow melted. It really felt good to be back home.

  1. so awesome! Was going to the sun road open on oct 7th of last year? I’m making my way out there oct 5th-14th just trying to get an idea of what it was like on the road during that time even if weather is unpredictable.

    Thank you,
    Jessica

    1. Gosh, I’m not sure when they closed it last year. I think it was open at least until October 10th as that’s when we did a raptor survey at Swiftcurrent Pass.
